Although young Jack Gall's name headlines here, another participant of whom listeners should take note is renowned Scottish worship leader Ian White. This, if not unusual then at least relatively uncommon, project sees White, who has trained boy soprano Gall, setting traditional Latin texts from the Bible (Vulgate) to music for Gall's solo voice to perform. It is an intriguing proposition with at times enchanting results. Gall has a good voice and imbues the ancient language with atmosphere and feeling. I feel the actual tracks are a little underserved by White's exclusive use of keyboard sounds to back Gall's vocals, with the exception of Graeme Duffin's guitar on "Dicit Dominus". However plaudits should go to those involved; I trust this project will find the audience it deserves, and the potential within Gall's undoubted talent will be realised.
