Rev Jack Filby was a mainstay of Christian Rock from the
1960s onwards, while continuing to minster at 5 rural
churches in West Essex. He ran a Christian Arts Centre near
Great Dunnow, while his wife, Pauline, fronted a band called
Narnia.
I have recently came across this CD, which runs to 28
minutes, mixing Cliff Richard songs with Gospel standards
such as The Whole World and Kum Ba Yah.
It was recorded in 1996 and released in 2000. To be honest
the quality of recording is not high and the songs are
delivered in a non distinctive manner.
So while this CD has not stood the test of time, there's no
doubting Jack's contribution to UK Gospel Music.
