Hi-hat and cymbals are always a give away for poor playing and cheapo drum kits but that isn't the case here. I was truly impressed to hear the fine sound and playing of the drummer in this guitar-based pub band. The hi-hat work which so many drummers ignore is given careful attention on this three-song cassette. Led Zep's Jimmy Page has to be a strong influence for the guitar player who executes some excellent phrasing using delay and chorus to bring Page's licks into the 90's. Cool alto female vocals take the lead which struggle to cut through on the uptempo songs but work great on the slow tune. Taking the good news of Jesus into their local pubs around Oxford is surely a worthwhile cause, but if this band stay together I'm sure a national audience could develop. It would well be worth a record company's effort to take this band into a state of the art studio.
