The Ichthus Christian Fellowship is an organisation that has branches in quite a few parts of the country. And in the traditions of similar set-ups such as Vineyard and Calvary Chapel, their praise and worship is firmly based on original material. Thus we have this collection of 12 original songs written and performed by members of the ICF Pimlico, and whilst they can’t boast a Graham Kendrick in their line-up, they do have in Jo Puleston someone who can not only craft a worship song or a praise anthem, but sing one with gritty passion and a prophetic dimension missing from some of the more production line praise available. Possibly the most radio friendly song is “I Exalt Thee” which has made it onto the UCB Europe playlist. There are a few wobbles here and there, one or two of the songs and performances are a bit iffy, but with a little more experience and honing of their evident talents, they could have the potential to be mightily used. Hang in there, guys, and be encouraged; you’re going in the right direction.
