Although I have no sleeve notes to refer to, here goes anyway. Ian White has of course an international reputation for providing contemporary songs which reveal scriptural truth. Easter is thus an obvious theme for him to focus on. 'Christ Is Risen' must have been great craic (Irish word for fun) to record. It contains a mixture of melodic and sing-talky (Don Francisco-esque) style songs, some of which would be suitable for group worship. I particularly liked "Thankyou For Loving Me" because of its energy, "Reveal Your Love" because for some bizarre reason it brought back memories of the 1970s and the pop group Squeeze (although the lyrics were somewhat different), the strongest song in my opinion was production-wise the simplest, singer and guitar only; "And Can It Be", complete with a new tune to breathe life and insight back into strong traditional lyrics, lan's acoustic guitar based style is apparent throughout the album. My only criticism would be that after the first couple of songs there were few surprises and the vocal arrangements became rather bland. A good effort nonetheless.
