Bluegrass variety of country from one of the finest of our contemporary groups. Gospel has always had an important place in bluegrass tradition, and this group's fifth album is an all-gospel treasure chest. The band offer some beautiful harmony singing behind lead singer Russell Moore's soulful vocals, and of course the acoustic picking is never less than immaculate. Interesting mix of material old and new. Some contemporary material such as "Across The Miles" from that fine writer Karen Staley, traditional pieces like the old Flatt Scruggs' gem "I'm Working On A Road To Gloryland" with songs from the Appalachian mountains and black gospel traditions. Wonderful selection of mainly lesser known songs, plus evergreens "Swing Low Sweet Chariot" and "Wonderful Time Up There". Five superb musicians combining in a joyous romp through some timeless music.
