In the early '90s, Glenn Rowlands was very much involved with the Christian thrash metal scene, playing guitar for a Californian band called Wickeds End and scoring a chart hit with his solo debut 'Time Will Tell'. Then in 1995 his mother and step-father died of drug overdose and suicide, triggering a spiral into alcohol and drugs. Divorce, homelessness and spells in mental institutions and jail soon followed. Then in 2007, Glenn read a Native American book called The Lakota Way. The book outlines a concept called the Red Road, from a vision from a Lakota holy man called Black Elk. Somehow this reminded Glenn of Christ, and led to him re-dedicating his life to God. This album is Glenn's thank you note to the people group whose culture helped him rediscover his faith; 15 songs written over a 13-year period. Glenn has always been a huge fan of Neil Young and classic rock acts such as David Bowie, The Stooges, Humble Pie and Led Zeppelin, and all those influences crop up at various points on the album. 'Red Road' is an amazing story of redemption, one I'm sure we haven't heard the end of just yet.
