Quoting from the letter from Glen, he says, "There are many people hurting in the Church and not many want to deal with the pain so it is denied and people don't find healing, not to mention...life more abundantly." I just felt I had to quote that as it is something I know from experience and is on my own heart. To the album itself: the title track reflects the hurt/pain and how the healing begins, opening up to God's overwhelming love and that if we begin to drop our unwanted baggage we can come into a much easier relationship with the Lord. Other tracks include "The Journey" which when it started I thought was Jan Krist singing then it becomes clear that it's Glen. "I Was Wrong", "Love Yourself, "Say Goodbye", "Long Season" and "I'm Your Child" are among the others. The skeletal nature of the low budget accompaniments meant I had to really listen to this album before the sheer impact of the words hit me. This man really sings from the heart and experience. There are a few uplifting/haunting melodies though on this album, "Nowhere Man" with its reggae beat and "I'm Your Child". I quite liked this album. "It's a ministry of love, compassion and concern - reaching out through the grace of Jesus Christ." (A friend of mine listened to the album and his sentiments might sum up an alternative view to Glen Clark's music: "The pain behind the lyrics and music really come across on the CD - listening to it is truly a painful experience!")
