One of the clichés of reviewing newish American CCM bands is that they all sound the same. Such an accusation could definitely not be levelled at this Florida trio whose delightfully different album features the extraordinary didgeridoo work of Jono Callow which gives these acoustic-driven songs an eerily plaintive feel which is quite captivating. Lead singer Brant Christopher has an appealing voice not dissimilar to Dan Haseltine (in fact, Fort Pastor have gigged with Jars Of Clay) while the band's material often reflects their desire to see more social justice expressed by the Church. Now that mainstream label Koch Entertainment have picked up the band we could well see a large cult following developing for these intelligent crafters of challenging acoustic songs.
