Three times Grammy Awards winner Donnie McClurkin presents this, his eighth solo album. The lead song, the soulful "Not Yet" presents the warm vocals, the slick production and outstanding choir that has become the trademark from this gospel minister. This style prevails in songs such as the faith building "There Is God" who is "standing in your corner" and the inclusive "Every Tribe". Although this forms the background to most of the collection, there are moments of note, for example one of the few times Donnie is not singing one of his compositions, the well-known infectious "I Will Call Upon The Lord" (written by Michael O'Shields), and the brilliant jazz-based (with Manhattan Transfer-style vocals no less) "I Won't Complain". Overall you know what to expect if you have listened to previous releases, but there is just enough here to turn heads.
