Dominic Kirwan first came to my attention earlier this year when I heard his excellent gospel single "You Are The One" being played on RTE Radio and I was looking forward to hearing this album which has now been released. To be honest, I am disappointed that it is not a gospel album but rather a collection of classic hits like "Needles And Pins", "Love Me Tender" and "Funny Familiar Forgotten Feeling", as well as country classics like "I Swear" and "You Were Never Too Far From My Mind". Also included are two duets with Louise Morrissey. My own personal favourites are "You Are The One" and the title track, a rock "n" roll number which brought back memories of the 1970s Showband era in Ireland. It's a well produced album with some very good orchestral arrangements and as such can be recommended, however I would have preferred to hear more original material.
