An album of popular instrumental tracks arranged for piano and orchestra. There are snippets of classical standards (Grieg's piano concerto, "Rhapsody In Blue") segued with soul-stirring hymns and sacred melodies. There is a fair sprinkling of modern romantic ballads ("Everything I Do") with some catchy new instrumental pieces. All impeccably performed: full marks for technical ability and emotional commitment. The tracks all highlight Dino's playing on the grand piano. He can certainly move his fingers and we are treated to lots of those tingly glissandos and finger-cracking runs that are the popular pianist's stock-in-trade. Carl Gorodetzky's Nashville String Machine pull plenty of big punches orchestrally and, as ever, sound crisp and together. The vocalists, brought in to add extra climax to some tracks, do a good job, but I don't like the way they have been mixed down to favour the piano. Ideal for cruising along in your car or as a nice background for your supper party.
