Must confess I'd never heard a Dino album before this enforced chore. Never wanted to after hearing him described as "a Christian version of Richard Clayderman". Now what would a musical sophisticate like me be doing listening to that? Well, the compulsory listen wasn't too painful; he's actually a rather competent piano man capable of more than just easy listening background filler. It's meditative, peace-inducing stuff, the piano blending in with the ambient sounds of nature's music. The tune titles cover stars, sun, dove, river, seasons and lots of peace, so you get the idea. But I have to admit it's all rather well done and quite enjoyable. It achieves its aim of relieving stress and ministering calm, so Mr Cummings might be able to read my writing for once. Even something as done-to-death as "We Bring The Sacrifice Of Praise" is given an enjoyable light jazz arrangement that really freshens it up. Some smooth, tasteful adornment from a few added instruments tops the sound off very sweetly. Much more tasteful than I had expected, this one.
