Paul Anderson-Walsh is a well known pastor, preacher and founder of Grace Project in the London area. Clearly he has made quite an impact on DJ Secret Weapon, the one time GreenJade turntablist as Secret has taken some of Paul's messages and given them accompanying riffs and loops in a similar way to America's Raving Loonatics did with US preachers a few years back. The opening track, "Spoken Intro", is a very simple quick-fire salvo that bursts through your thoughts and makes you sit up and take notice. Be under no illusions, this isn't an album to have on in the background or to chill out to, these are punchy and to the point messages coupled with uncompromising beats that demand to have your attention. "True Identity" is a powerful call out, exploring the character of Paul, with a historical detour to the legacy of his lineage and unapologetically assaults you with unconditional love and acceptance. If there is one flaw in the production of the album, it is that the underlying music has an occasional tendency to overpower the spoken words and the rhythms can be somewhat repetitive at points. However, as the music is there primarily as a delivery vehicle ensuring that the heart behind the project gets through, the repetition merely serves to direct focus back onto the message. Overall the evocative words combined with almost hypnotic sounds make for a challenging, provocative and profound journey and one well worth enjoying time and again.
