Having learnt his trade singing his songs as a youngster travelling round Christian coffee houses in America, Chuck McConnell has gone on to write about 60 songs in the last five years, though strangely this is only his second CD release and the previous release dates back to 2002. Chuck is currently worship leader in his church and it shows through in the contemplative/worshipful style of this collection. Vocally Chuck strangely reminds me of Robbie Williams in places and when he decides to let loose on some of the rockier numbers here his guitar playing is reminiscent of Bryn Haworth. So if you've ever wondered what Robbie Williams and Bryn Haworth would sound like together now you can find out! On the downside, the album is somewhat let down by the absence of any true killer songs that really stand out in the memory; that said this is still a good professional album and well worth a listen.
