Hey, thanks Crossrhythms for adding this wonderful album
from 1980 to the list. I have the vinyl lp.. never seen it
on cd yet. Have you heard the sweet voice of this gospel
songbird; simple beauty!! "Shadow of a Tree" is a nice ,
soft- pop gospel song; one of my top lp favorites.
Christine wrote the song, and what a wonderful song! The
album has that nice,soft, easy sound of songs to hear;
similar in style to the Peterson Trio from early 70's. I
just luv "What Will I Hear My Master Say" and "Part the
Waters":the background voices have that classic gospel aire.
Incidentally, Christine and Don Shelton do all the
background vocals for the songs;simply amazing! Every song
on this album is noteworthy!! These are the songs that any
church would allow to be heard within their walls. The
first song on side 1 "JESUS is my Sunshine" seems to be just
the right song to start off the album. There are also 12
songs total, and not the usual 5 per side; many of the
songs are about 3 minutes in length or shorter. I tend to
favor the songs on side 2 more. Does anyone know how
Christine and Don Wyrtzen are related?? This album is a true
example of original classic gospel music, I would luv to
find it on cd!
GOD Bless! -Don
