"Nobody loves me like you love me Jesus" will no doubt be called by some a clichéd or a simplistic line on which to build a song, particularly if you take the view that the Church needs to return to more theologically rich songs in these times of simple modern worship. All I can say is that with a songsmith as skilled as Mr Tomlin, the expression of gratitude to God's unrelenting love demonstrated here with such an effective surging chorus and some telling verses ("Morning, I see you in the sunrise/It's like a picture that you've painted for me/A love letter in the sky" and "Story, I could've had a really different story/But you came down from Heaven to restore me/Forever saved my life") make for a song which works for me and which I am delighted to listen to on the radio AND sing in church.
