Grammy winner and legendary artist CeCe Winans communicates loud and clear with her eighth solo album. Mixing gospel, hip-hop and R&B 'Purified' generates a message of love and encouragement . From the opening track to the ending ballad this album keeps you interested and wanting more through a variety of songs and styles. Highlights include the funky groove "Just Like That" with excellent dynamics and original beats; other highlights include "Let Everything That Has Breath", which creates life and movement through its Latin sound; and "Place Like This" which features rap group Grits and shows that veteran diva CeCe is still able to connect across a hip-hop groove. This album definitely finds its strength in the more upbeat songs, but the slower ballads will be enjoyed by those who bought 'Alabaster Box' in such numbers.
