Since his self-titled EP released in 2014, North Carolina-based Cameron has proved himself as a first class songwriter. This album of 10 songs would fit nicely in to the 'concept' album category with the collection opening with the title track "Part 1" and the longer "Part 2" at the conclusion of the album. In between themes of light and darkness in life are explored using a keyboard/guitar musical base. In "Hold On" for example, the lyrics explore brokenness ("Empty roads we may wander/In circles we have come/Holding memories of others/Who know a different home. . . while kneeling in the rubble"). Throughout, the lyrics are thought provoking, defying Cameron's young age. In the last but one track "One Nine" he exhorts his listeners to be "strong and carry on." After listening to the album a few times, I am left with the impression that this is an album that speaks to our time.
