Breakspear's 'Fling' album came out last year and was enthusiastically reviewed by Cummings in CR22. He described it as "a madcap, surreal musical journey" and also commented on the "literate lyrics from a man who has a vast amount to say." A great pity, then, that this three-track cassette of dance remixes should so cut up those songs that they say almost nothing at all. Only "You Have Set Me Free" retains any kind of coherent message, with both "Maybe Your Experience" and "Go Out" featuring so many half-phrases in sampled repetition that it's ultimately a frustrating experience. "WHAT'S THE END OF THE LINE?" I was shouting desperately at my unobliging tape deck. It's a great shame because otherwise re-mix man Munkee Matt Wanstall has provided a decent dance groove. But buy the original versions, I'd say.
