Enjoyable and pleasing rather than devastatingly exciting. 11 original songs from non-band member Michael Sharp, all melodic, simple in structure, with straightforward arrangements and occasionally too obvious musicianship. Carole Berry's lead vocal style is warm and friendly, staying within its limitations and communicating effectively. The roots-oriented material such as "Carpenter's Son" really do tend to plod along, lacking any spark of originality. Having pointed out the flaws, I quite enjoyed much of the set, "How High You Climbed" is appealing, a gentle vocal in simple acoustic setting. Some extra creativity needed to turn a decent little band into something sharper.
