As the title suggests, this album is a collection of old songs (from '93 and '94). The strong soulful voice of Mr Carlisle shines through all of these songs and the clean production of Bill Deaton (and Charlie Peacock on two songs) really helps each instrument to stand out. The quality of songs is very good indeed and the melodies are not predictable as they can tend to be in this genre. In fact, this is an extremely uplifting listen due to the optimistic sound and direct lyrics. Most of these songs are of loving devotion to the Father, as in "Mind, Body, Heart and Soul". The tunes that really stick out to me are "Getting Stronger" and "we Are The People". The only drawback was that the album is 16 tracks long and you can get a little put off as a lot of the songs have a very similar feel. However, the quality of the songwriting and Bob Carlisle's vocal work is spot on. If this is your favourite then you will enjoy this considerably. Even if it isn't, it is as good an introduction to the style as any I can think of.
