As all followers of modern worship will know, Bluetree are an Irish band who burst onto the scene with their debut album featuring the song "God Of This City", now considered a worship classic. There have been major changes for Bluetree since then and only lead singer/songwriter Aaron Boyd remains from the original lineup. Honed over the three week Super Summer event in Oklahoma in June 2013, this live recording features a new version of "God Of This City" as well as some powerful new songs. "Under My Feet" (the devil, that is) is a driving, no holds barred duet with crowd exhortations to "rise up and sing" and an energy reminiscent of classic early Ishmael material. "In Christ Alone" is given a similar 2014 treatment, with an all guns blazing electric guitar courtesy of Peter Burton. "You Are My Rock" opens with sensitive keys delivered by Nathan Jess and is marked by a lyric to match - "You are my ever present shelter". An equally soulful rendering of "When I Survey" graces the album's otherwise more frenetic numbers. If high octane praise complemented by reflective worship is your thing then this is the album for you.
