Formerly known a Regeneration, Blue Planet have been together since 1996. The first track, 'Rescue Me', is weak and although an obvious attempt had been made with different percussion sounds, there is a severe lack of bass. The result is a somewhat stilted sound typical of many a church worship group. The lyrics however are quite impressive, particularly "Day At A Time", a track taken from the book of Ecclesiastes. "Yesterday" is a further example of fine lyrics, challenging to the listener yet at the same time tinged with personal honesty. Considering the standard of the lyrics it's a pity that the music is so uninspiring. What we have here are clumsy rhythms, vocalists who never climb higher than the merely adequate and arrangements which simply don't hold up to repeated listening. With so many high standard independent albums coming out, I doubt whether 'Here On Earth' will attract too many purchasers.
