This Manchester-based band have caused a flurry of interest in their local circuit over the last year or so and they have built on their previous EP defining more that they have a definite rock/indie flavour. The first track opens with timed cymbals and a melodic acoustic piano which fool you to believe this could be very middle of the road. However, as soon as the rock guitar wails in and a duo of electric lead guitars kick in, you soon realise this is not middle road ground. The song takes on a 6/8 rhythm with a strong chorus but the vocals are weak and harmonies clash at times. The track finalises with a guitar solo and almost abruptly ends just as you expect it to rouse back into the chorus. Track two has a more bluesy rock intro and mellows into mid paced Brit pop. The lead vocals could do with toning down and the overall production definitely needs a better producer to blend their intriguing musical elements.
