The second of two releases by Redcar resident Beth (see her Artist Profile elsewhere on the website for the first, 'Ends And Beginnings'), and it's 12 tracks, 48 minutes of material in a style that's slightly on the easy listening side of pop. Beth's voice has a wistful, slightly ethereal quality to it, and whilst not the strongest in the world (occasionally the instruments intrude more than somewhat), it's generally accurate and suited to the material. Some have suggested that Beth is a singer in the Cathy Burton/Lou Fellingham mould, but on the evidence of this, she has some way to go before she can pass muster on that score. I can't comment on the mechanics of the album, as there's absolutely no information in the sleeve, but I do know that Beth writes all her own stuff. Having said that, there's loads of this sort of music out there fighting for radio airplay. Despite her obvious talents, a quality production is now needed if Beth is going to make it to the next level.

Beth's material is amazing and her voice and unadorned
production are the selling points. These songs are honest
and life-changing. This is acoustic / indie folk for
listeners who find pop banal ...
