Babbie Mason, a preacher's daughter, played piano and coached the choir at her father's church before launching a singing career eventually signing to Word in the late '80s. This CD is drawn from this material and includes the big Christian radio "smashes" such as "For The Cause Of Christ" and "All Rise". Also here is "Standing In The Gap" featuring both Cindy Morgan and Helen Baylor and the Dove-nominated "With All Of My Heart". My favourite here is the track "Carry On" featuring great backing vocals with a big band feel. Babbie is a rarity, a black singer who had as much success in the white CCM market as in gospel circles and this pleasant compilation showcases a singer able to work in a wide variety of styles.
