Al Ross & The Planets are a London-based band who performed together in the '90s. Now recently reformed to record this, their debut album in the world famous Abbey Road Studios, and also to start gigging again. The album features four songwriters and four vocalists making this 11-track collection an eclectic mix for the listener with rock'n'roll, jazz and blues being represented here. The atmospheric opener "My Love For You" features gritty vocals over a keyboard and guitar and brilliant saxophone from Dave Brammer, while "Wonderland" is blues at its best. "Talk To Me" is very radio friendly with an infectious hook and a driving drum beat. Sing Gospel, the West London-based choir who have sung with Shirley Bassey, also feature on two tracks. This is a highly enjoyable album which grows on you with each listen.
