2nd Chapter Of Acts were one of those groups that became a legend in their own lifetime. I suppose it was the truly awesome 1977 live set 'How The West Was One' with Phil Keaggy and A Band Called David that set the seal on their legendary CCM status, but some of their songs from the first half of the 1970s such as "Which Way The Wind Blows" and "Easter Song" had indicated that this sibling outfit was something special. These days, of course, virtually all of their back catalogue is available on CD, so new listeners can hear what all the fuss was about. This 1985 album came almost at the end of their career as an ensemble, when they were beginning to sound a bit tired creatively. Nevertheless, the trademark harmonies are still there, and the title track, whilst perhaps a little overblown and bombastic, has always been a favourite of mine, as has "Oh No! Can't Believe It", even though the opening riff always reminds me of the 1978 Foreigner hit song "Cold As Ice". I have to say that 'Rejoice', 'Mansion Builder' and 'Singer Sower' are better albums than this one, but even so, 'Night Life' still has its moments.

Slight slip of the keys at the end - of course, it's 'Night LIGHT'...
