Another way we see people praying in the Bible and especially in the New Testament is in groups! In Acts 2 the church’s first prayer meeting took place and in a number of other places in Acts we see believers gathering together to pray, why not check out these examples:
Acts 2: 1
Acts 2: 42
Acts 3: 1
Acts 4: 23-31
…there are hundreds of examples in Acts alone!!! See how many more you can find! The major thing that we see when people pray together in groups in the Bible is that they see major moves of God. In Psalm 133 it says:
“Behold how good and how pleasant it is when brethren dwell together in unity… for there the Lord commands the blessing – life forevermore.”
God blesses us and the prayers we pray when we pray together. God loves it when we spend quiet time alone with Him but I believe there is a place in God’s heart for when we pray together and believe together. God has called the church His body and therefore the more we do things together the more beautiful I believe it looks to Him. In Matthew 18: 20 Jesus said,
“For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.”
Sometimes its hard to pray with other people, we can feel unconfident and embarrassed but it is so pleasing to God when we pray and agree together for things. Be creative – pray together!
