Women are more likely than men to get angry while driving, according to a survey of motorists. Women car insurance specialist Diamond questioned 1,8000 people and found that 21 per cent of women often felt angry with other motorists when behind the wheel compared with just 18 per cent of men. The same percentage of women and men - 51 per cent - admit to shouting at other drivers, although 2 per cent of men admit to having physically attacked another driver, compared with the 1 per cent of women. | |

A Texan man has broken his own world record for sitting in a bath filled with rattlesnakes. Jack Bibby spent 45 minutes in the transparent bath with 87 rattlesnakes, shattering his own record by 12 snakes. Learner drivers will have to answer more questions correctly to pass the theory section of the driving test from today. Candidates will be set 50 questions and will have to get 43 of them correct – 96% to pass. Until today, learners faced only 35 questions and had to get 30 right (85.7%). When the change was announced last month, the Driving Standards Agency (DSA) said the increase in the number of multiple-choice questions in the test would help broaden candidates’ knowledge and lead to higher standards. The cost of the written part of the driving test has risen from £21.50 to £28.50 from today. | |

An Archaeology student has discovered a 5000 year old piece of chewing gum. Sarah Pickin, aged 23, found the lump of birch bark tar – complete with Neolithic tooth prints – while on a dig in Finland. Neolithic people used the material as an antiseptic to treat gum infections as well as a kind of glue for repairing broken pots. | |

Britain is going through a self-improvement boom according to a survey carried out by Yahoo! Answers. The survey to find out peoples burning ambitions discovered… 92% would like to learn and develop new expertise, 40% are inspired to become better cooks, and nearly 50% want to improve their foreign language skills. Also 20% wish they were better dancers; almost 25% want to develop new creative talents such as painting. But 78% of all those surveyed felt insufficient time was holding them back from their search for another skill and 53% said a lack of finance was likely to stop them from chasing new experiences. | |

Flower-making is one of the demonstrations which visitors can see at Gladstone Pottery Museum, in Longton. All the museum staff have all previously worked as flower makers in the pottery industry. A Council which has spent more than £75,000 replacing wheelie bins in the past year said one has turned up in Bulgaria. Peterborough City Council says more than 2,000 bins – worth £30 each have disappeared. “One 240 litre green recycling bin stamped with the city council’s name was even spotted in Bulgaria” said a spokesman. | |

At least 285 English schools are fingerprinting pupils without any Government guidance, a Liberal Democrats probe has revealed.
