Sandi Patti and John Helvering announce impending divorce.

THE NASHVILLE CCM scene was shocked by the announcement that best selling inspirational singer Sandi Patti and husband John Helvering are to divorce. A brief statement said they were "irreconcilable differences" between the couple.

The comment here so a lack of Biblical truth . Folks might read what Paul said about someone sexual sin.He called it out before the church and those them to kick the person out . Folks today do not like Biblcial judgement because they are not living a Biblcial Christian life . A great biblical article for these folks to read. I love Sandi's music she was, is, and will be a great singer. I admire that even though the devil defeated he once she didn't give up, she knew that God is a
God of second chances and she embrace that last chance to glorify the name of the Lord. it is so easy to judge but no one knows what really happened in their lives that drove her to do what she did. stop pointing fingers just like Pharisees and be like Jesus. he said to Mary Magdalene go and sin no more; he didn't accused Mary, he didn't through any stone on her, he showed her his love and mercy; if God did that for Mary who am I to do any different with Sandi. be real Christian stop being like the devil. so many Christian just go to church to say that they are with the Lord, but don't act like Jesus did. stop judging her because one day you will also be judge, and just because some of you decide to be martyrs in a relationship doesn't mean others have to do the same, stop comparing others with your self, every person is unique. pray for every one and live only your life.

Hope your comment and beliefs are consistent (which I doubt). While I'm not gay and have been in a loving marriage (by the grace of God) with my wife of 26 years, this "pick and choose" of Scripture is exactly why we are in the mess we are in today and divorce and remarriage in the church is NEVER preached against, and is the "norm" in todays society. You can't have it both ways, and look the other way because it is "straights" marrying and remarrying, (Bible calls living in adultery) while pointing the finger at the gay's and sentencing them to hell / eternal torment. Doesn't work that way and this is exactly why the double standard conservative Christianity is a laughing stock to the world. What's good for the goose.... is good for the gander. If it is "living in sin" for a gay person to marry or have sexual relations with another of their same sex, it is "living in sin" for a married person (Christian or not) to divorce, remarry and have sexual relations with another if their original spouse is alive. No getting around this if you are honest. Stop fooling yourselves, evangelicals! Honestly, when is the last time you heard a sermon on forbidding remarriage after divorce? IT DOESN'T happen!!! Stop the double standard!!! The world sees through that.

This is the problem with a lot of christians, you're too focused on others sins. It is not your job to focus on her, and her sins. Worry about your own sins, and focus on Jesus!!!

Excuse me.......Hello? First of all, He who is without sin cast the first stone. She is a great artist and writer and a wonderful person. Let me see.....let us look into each of your lives like Jesus can and lets dig out your past and see what we find and let us judge you. Hummmm.....what will we find? She repented and not she is very successful. Did you not know that you will be judged the same way that you judge her? Lets get real folks and examine yourselves first!

Sandy Patti should not have done what she did all because she is in the spot light in a Christian capacity.She's telling newer Christians that this is almost OK.She cheated on her husband.It's a 'sin now and repent later' kind of thing.

Sandi how could you do something but you know if God forgives we have to to . I know what it is to have a loved one cheat on you My husbamd did it
so many times and would always say he would't do it a gain thrn the hext time I knew he was at it a gain but I stayed with him for 541/2 years untill he died but God helped me al l the
time no it not easy but it depends on how you love God and his ways he will supply

This article is 18 years old! The divorce happend in 1992. Alot of life has been lived since then. 18 years later Sandi has written books about her journey, the heartache, the forgivenenss publicly and privately with the church. I encourage you to look at her works now.

Sandi Patti filed for divorce because she committeed adultery. But in another article, it said her and John tried to reconcile trough a Christian counselor before she filed for the divorce. This doesnt make any sense! Putting on o fake image to not only the Christian industry, but to your family and friends - that is so wrong. That's basically slapping anyone in your family and turnin around and slapping them again for what you did wrong.
