Delirious?, release their third single "Promise"
THE BIGGEST sales phenomenon ever to hit UK Christian music, Littlehampton rock praise team Delirious? (pictured)have secured their third successive hit single with "Promise". The single entered the pop charts at 20 and, unlike its chart making predecessors "White Ribbon Day" and "Deeper" is receiving radio support from numerous stations including National Radio One. It has not however been initially selected by television's Top Of The Pops.
"Promise", which comes from the best selling Delirious? album 'King Of Fools' (which entered the UK album charts at 13), is being heavily promoted by MTV who have been giving high rotation exposure to the "Deeper" Steve Price-directed video which includes a cameo role for the Body Shop's Anita Roddick.
The band, who on July 13th played a free concert in Littlehampton to 8,000 fans, are riding on an unprecedented wave of popularity. The band, who run their own record label Furious? and are managed by Tony Pototo from Total Records, have announced a record licensing deal with EMI for America. Under the deal Virgin Records will release the 'King Of Fools' album to the American secular market while Sparrow Records (owned by EMI) will issue a double-album of the band's four Cutting Edge mini-albums for the US Christian bookshop market with 'King Of Fools' to follow in 1998.The band are planning the D:Tour in the autumn to coincide with their fourth single.
