Somerset rockers Brother John scrap album, start again
SOMERSET-based rock band Brother John, having almost completed an
album in 2008, have decided to scrap the project and start again.
Reads a statement from Risen Records' Tom Maynard, "They decided that
what they had recorded didn't capture what they were after, nor the
Spirit of what it is all about. So after years of hard work, weeks of
preparation and precious annual leave taken off for the recording they
scrapped it ALL. The good news is that the process has well and truly
started over again! This time round, Brother John have called in the help of
professional London producer Stu Reid (recent projects include
[dweeb]'s 'It Came From Outer Space') who has helped them in the
songwriting process. Brother John are really excited to have
booked in recording time into a studio in central Bristol where P J
Harvey and John Parish have just been recording and things are shaping
up well for the album. Without wanting to put a deadline in place, the
album should be finished in 2009. When it is ready, the band will
begin gigging both in the UK, Europe and hopefully further afield."
