Whenever I feel a bit down or not so good, apart from praying listening to The Fisher Folk encourages me always, hence I cannot believe the comment posted by Trevor Kirk.

But I have another HUGE problem : I only have the 1 CD of the Fisher Folk (featured on top). Now I know that they don't sing any more, but is there a way or a place where I can get hold of this music ? PLEASE !!!

I came home from church today and ran a search for the Fisherfolk music. I have many of their albums but would like their music on cd. I found this website:
http://www.communityofcelebration.com/cgi-local/store/shop.p l/page=storecome.html/SID=1220215956.28289
Hope this helps. They are still living lives of praise and worship.

The Fisher Folk songs taught us alot of Scripture when we were new Christians. Their worship is very real and about God and what He has done for us. Even today as I read His Word these songs come back as do some of the old hymns. For me it really is about acceptable worship to the Amazing God we serve.

Trevor Kirk has every right to expres his view. I just feel he could have expressed it with a little more more sensitivity. We ought to be able to celebrate the past, not ridicule it. Much of what goes for 'worship' today is all about the proverbial 'me' and performance. If Trevor Kirk wants to keep involved with that kind of music fine butI don't think that God will be listening. And I for one won't be buying it.

Trevor Kirk does not have the right to be disparaging or insulting of people who have dedicated their lives to serving
God and even sacrificed their material wealth to live in the Community of Celebration. Nor does he have the right to be rude to all of us who grew up learning the faith-filled Biblical songs that the Fishrefolk have sung so beautifully.
Trevor also does not appear to understand that this is about God's message in the Bible and about worshipping God in Spirit and in truth. Praise and Worship are not about commercial music or the performers.

I found an old cassette of this recently in poor condition and oh! it was so good to worship along with it,and to reflect how the sentiments expressed echoed my own heart and experiences.

Reading Trevor Kirk's review made me wonder if he has lost the plot as to what worship is all about. It is not about songwriters and musicians, it is about hearts reaching out to the Lord.

In their day the Fisherfolk were such a wonderful breath of fresh air. What is was, and still is, evident is that they loved the Lord with all their hearts or at least as much as the current "worship leaders".

Of course, the Fisherfolk's material was a lot less commercial(!). So much of the "worship scene" today is market driven - and about that I cannot but think the Lord weeps. One reasonably contemporary song did hit the nail on the head - "It's all about YOU, Jesus!"

The Fisherfolk are for me personally the best worship
and praise group ever. I totally disagree with Trevor
Kirk's comments indeed the "worship and praise"
groups of today are light years behind as opposed to
been light years ahead. If someone could obtain the albums Joy in the Morning, Rejoice with the Fisherfolk,
Worship with the Fisherfolk, Sing the Word with the
Fisherfolk and Sing Praise with the Fisherfolk all on
CD and one had a bank account in RSA l would glady
make a deposit / payment into such a account to
obtain this inspirational music.
