EMI Hemisphere have put out a world music series celebrating different styles from around the globe. This is a sound to behold- gospel music heavily flavoured with bold South African tones and fused throughout with gentle western rhythms. Rebecca has a voice that could stop traffic on the M1. Not surprisingly she's a superstar in her homeland. She's passionate, plaintive and genuine and sings in English and her native tongue. It's a unique sound to tempt the jaded palate of any one wanting a different gospel taste. According to the attached blurb, the whole combines the unique sounds of mbube and Zulu influences on the African-American style harmonies. "Uhlal Ekhona (He's Always There)" has a gentle R&B swing-beat underneath the very dominant African pulse. "Take My Hand", sung in English, has a powerful and yet lulling chorus that is guaranteed to pester your ears long after you've switched off the CD player. "Emandleweni (Pastures)" has Rebecca and the choir loosening up and swinging it a bit. Rebecca's awesome voice seems to emanate from her boots and its very richness exudes an honesty that will grab your brain cells and force you to listen. This unusual but delightful offering is definitely worth getting hold of if you want to broaden your tastes.

Dear Rebecca, the first time I heard your song over here in Nigeria, I was so moved that I went to the market to buy it. You are so gifted by God that so many people have been blessed, of whom Iam one. May God continue to inspire you to be a vessel in His able hand.
