I love the songs on this album. I think it is the best thing that has featured so far on the 'Emerge' label and I can't wait for the band to give us more. You must see them live. Go to www.rexallchurch.co.uk to find out where!!

Perhaps Tony wasn't utterly stunned by the music, but to go so far as to say that Rex Allchurch is "just average" seems unfair. Worship albums, in my opinion, aren't necessarily designed with making money in mind. They're recorded to help others draw closer to God.

To me, it wouldn't matter if the song was the high E note on a guitar for 4 minutes, if it helped me with prayer or worship.

I hope Tony Cummings sees that not every album has to hit the Top 40.

Rex and the band are really really talented and go way beyond 'average on the quality meter'. I think you'll find that if you were to listen to it properly it would break the quality meter. The quality meter just couldnt go high enough where Rex Allchurchs album is concerned. Rex Allchurch and the band are not average, they're exceptional. They mean what they sing and it could help anyone to come into the presence of God.

I don't think Rex sounds anything like Matt and Tim!!! In fact, they themselves have voice unique one to the other. I believe that Mr Cummings needs another listen. I believe the lyrics and melodies are far beyond average on the "quality meter" and as a musician feel that the above review is a little negative.

i heard the band in denmark, and thought that they where great, then i bought both to love the lost albums, and they where great to. hope they come up with some more of that great stuff

It is upsetting to read such a negative view like that of Tony Cummings and I would not usually make comment but in this instance I feel compelled. The album by Rex Allchurch "To Love The Lost" is great and the only downfall is that it has 7 songs, I want more!

I wonder if the person that did the review actually listened to this album???? Maybe it contained the wrong CD??

Either way, I went to both Spring Harvest in Minehead and B-Cent in Birmingham and found the band to be amazing, the songs are so much more gutsy than most of the stuff out on the worship market at the moment.

As an aside, the band also don't seem to possess that "on stage/off stage" mentality, they are quite down to earth. I think this CD (I have survivor as well as indie version) would be a treasured asset to anyone who wants to go deeper with God.

I found this album particularly inspiring, amazing songs that seemed to go beneath the average worship album, there was a real sense of sincerity in the words that were being sung. It has certainly encouraged me in my walk with God and in seeking to love the lost. I have not yet met anyone who has said anything contrary, in fact this album has received the greatest reviews out of the emerge series as far as I have heard. I would say the songs are a little typical of the survivor style, but since it’s on the survivor label its what you expect. I’m looking forward to hearing what comes next!
