Praise and Honor to Our HOLY KING JESUS! Even though I was taught that God hates Divorce, he also allows it for Adultery. I too am going through a divorce and even though it has been very painful two months I am now back at home with my husband but still waiting on the LORD to confirm if I should proceed with the divorce of a marriage of 30 years. In response to M Knapp: Keith is not disappointed in heaven, because when believers get to heaven we will only be in love with our LORD Jesus, and be there to worship and adore our Mighty GOD! Forever and ever.

Christine, you and your family are in my prayers. God does hate divorce. Please take a moment and see the hope for yourself for your marriage.

This is extremely sad, it almost erodes all that Keith Green had worked for.

In no way does this erode all that Keith had worked for. Ultimately, his message later in life was one of grace. Melody needs to be shown some grace in this situation. God is way bigger than you are making Him out to be. God is still using Keith's ministry for His purposes and will continue to do so.

I was sorry as well to hear of her divorce. I don't think anyone wants a divorce (I'm just finished going through my second one). It is very painful. I happen to be reading her book, No Compromise, and am very moved by it. I trust that God will comfort both of them at this time.

Very sad. I think it must have been hard for her husband to live in Keith's shadow. Melody's life continued to be about Keith, even after she remarried. Not blaming anyone here, because I'm sure it was a hard marriage. But I also imagine Keith in heaven being very disappointed in the divorce after his strong teaching on the subject.

The opinions expressed in the Reader Comments are not necessarily those held by Cross Rhythms.
Divorce is difficult no matter what the circumstances. The Bible says, "He who is without sin, cast the first stone." I don't think anyone should criticize Melody or make hurtful comments. What happened is between her, God and her husband. God hates divorce, yes, but He is merciful. We should try to do the same.
