Thanks for writing this Mal. My thoughts and prayers are with Mike and his family and friends. Thank God for His wonderful never-ending grace for all of us.

It is with great saddness for Michael that I read this, I am concerned as to how he may cope with unavoidable humiliation, after all which one of us doesn't live a life where we hide things and try to portray a different, better person to others? Some may think, but that was a real big lie, but don't we all know that to God one small sin is just as painful as a whopper? Of course I feel for his close ones, but I just can't imagine how he must feel now. I pray for him to find his peace again with God and his family.
And may we all take from this not to put others on pedistals, we all need to learn to communicate ourselves with God and ask him to bless us with discernment so we are shocked and our faith is not rocked when things like this happen.

This is a really sad day reading about Michael Guglielmucci, but you know I believe that although there will be consequences for Michael and the lie he has told, God's love for him has not changed one jot. Whatever reason he initially chose to lie maybe we'll never really know, but rather than judgment he needs prayer and the support from those closest to him. As a believer he will have enough conviction and probably feelings of condemnation, but that is truthfully between him and God.
Yes I know there will be many people who may be hurt by his admission of the deception, but that does not change the greatness of our God. I know God is a healing God who never lets us down.
I ask people to not judge Michael, but to keep him and his family uplifted in your prayers.

Christ was there all the way... my reaction was and is still love for Michael. Being a mother I can and will in no way disown a child no matter what. If the foundation of our faith is Christ alone we will not turn our back on God because of someone's fall but instead learn from this and walk a step higher. Pray for the person who fell and love him/her more. God's love does not depend on us... it depends fully on Him. Who are we to pass judgment or condemn someone who fell. The Bible admonishes us to help and lift those who have fallen. Help them to walk again. How sure are we that we will not fall or make an iota of sin? He or she who has not sinned... throw the first stone.

Mal, you are a great guy. It's much appreciated having your commentary on this, because many people will need this advice. I totally agree. It was a shame to see the "praying together for mike" facebook group removed, because, in a sense he now needs prayer as much as before, if not more. In addition to that, I must say the news never gives the full story. I'm sure you would konw more than what has been said online, but I know there's more to the story. People have immediately assumed the whole thing was totally faked from start to finish. I'm not entirely sure it was, though it may have been. All we know is that dishonesty has been at play somewhere in the line, and obviously it is tragic, but the bottom line is we don't know the in's and outs of it. Nevertheless, we still keep Mike in our prayers.
