Comment:	The second amendment exists to protect this nation from falling under the rule of a tyrannical government akin to the one we fought during the revolutionary war. it has nothing to do with hunting. This right as protected by the constitution, like all constitutional rights, instills in the citizenry ultimate personal responsibility for their own actions. Banning firearms, aside from being unconstitutional, is an affront to a citizen's integrity and is akin to punishing for a crime before the crime has been committed. Correct me if I'm wrong but are we not suppose to presume people innocent of crime until they are proven guilty? Are we suppose to punish everyone for a crime committed by one or two people? our laws are intended to punish criminals and only criminals. commit a crime, get punished... simple enough. instead what is trying to be done is the punishment of an entire citizenry for crimes committed by a very small percent of the population who have been irresponsible with their firearms. If a firearms ban comes to pass we will have in essence "traded one tyrant 3000 miles away for 3000 tyrants one mile away" to quote a very astute and accurate line from the film "The Patriot"
