Article Title: Pop Media And Gender Equality

Comment: Dear Emma, while I agree that women are unfairly presented as well as represented in the media, I do not believe equal numbers of both genders will do the trick. Let me just bring up the fact, that it was a woman (by the name of Laurence Pieau) who first published the Kate photos you mention in your article. Personally I do not believe in gender equality but in equal opportunities. What Paul talks about in Galatians is just that: both are equally saved by grace. Not that both are the same. There is a purpose why God created man and woman. Both genders are equally saved. Because both are equally sinfull. It is both men and women who are greedy and will do anything they can to get publicity and revenue (and not only in media). I accept that more women in media may help bring the change we both desire. Yet I am not convinced manipulating (equalising) gender shares will do it. This will happen only when those, who consider equal treatment to be their life mission, stand up and take courageous positions in media (and other industries). Petr
