Comment:
I met Michael (Max) and Scotty and Tom in the late 70's in Santa Cruz when they were morphing from Airtight into The Call. I probably saw them 100 times and a partner of mine and I promoted a show with them at The Boarding House in San Francisco. Michael's booming, angst filled, emotional voice is to be unmatched amongst those who attempt to sing Rock and as a bassist his talent was and is in the same category as John Entwistle. Thoughtful, melodic and completely groove-laden. As artists go, Michael was in that elite category called 'original'. As a non-religious sort the only thing I can say even though it's a stretch for me is, God Speed Max. You will be sorely missed.
