Be warned, the cranked-up electric guitars come in quickly on the album, as I found out when the volume on the CD player was little higher than I thought it was. But, hey, it's for kids, so these 15 arrangements of recent worship favourites, including "Let The Praises Ring", "Open The Eyes Of My Heart", "Shout To The Lord" are colourful. They are also sometimes brash, maybe a little loud, and definitely fast (with what are possibly the quickest versions of Tim Hughes' "Here I Am To Worship" and "Lord I Lift Your Name On High" I have ever heard). But this CD is brimming over with fun, enthusiasm and marvellously lacks the condescension that can often be seen and heard in children's music and broadcasting. Was that a hint of Avril Lavigne-style pop-rock I heard in "God Is Great"? Surely not some modern-day rhythm and beat during "You're Worthy Of My Praise"? As it is an American CD, there are a few supremely cheesy moments to be alert for, with some quieter parts of songs bordering on things that might not sound too out of place on Barney the Dinosaur's television show. But these are, in general, few and far between - and do not detract from the important message to children that worship can be, and should be, fun.
