Having taken a slightly simplified approach to the lyric writing on this album seems to have paid off greatly. From a young and self-taught artist, the writing on this album, both musical and lyrical, portrays an old head on young shoulders. Whilst it is true that songs like "I Am Here" are accounts of a particularly difficult chapter of Virginia's life, she has seemingly taken that situation and turned it on its head, to illustrate that higher power that is always here with us. Other songs on the album are considerably more up-beat, with a subtle Tennessee-style influence creeping in. The beautiful "Miracle" from well known Americana man Matt Brouwer adds yet a further dimension to what is a phenomenally accomplished and polished release, and the album concludes with an impressive acappella version of "How Great Thou Art" and a truly magnificent rearrangement of "Majesty" to provide the climactic ending this album deserves. An outstanding recording, which leaves me certain that Virginia Hill is well on her way to future recording success.
