'Bright Faith Bold Future' continues the Chicago worship collective's worship adventures using the theme of our future in Christ. Vertical's formula has not changed - anthemic rock songs with layers of guitars and more than a stylistic nod to the sound of the old Coldplay. But this team of Chicagoans do it supremely well. The songs are well written and arranged and work well taking the listener on a worship journey, culminating in the quietly building "Shelter" from Jason Ingram and his One Sonic Society before a final, full-throttle rock romp closes the album. Definitely worth a listen and it will uplift the heart of any worshipper but there is nothing to make 'Bright Faith Bold Future' truly stand out from the now hundreds of other rock worship albums out there.
