Some voice, some stylist! Right from the excellent opening track, Bob Bailey's "On A Mission", there's a touch of fire on the whole set, right through to the closing strains of the Michael Christian/Barbara Mitchell Richardson gem "Rejoice". The music finds its roots in the best of traditional black gospel with quality contemporary sounds coated on to produce music of richness and grace. Always thought Vernessa knew a good song when she heard one and "Someone Loves You" is as tender and gentle a ballad as you'll find, given the best of treats by this very special voice. Eight well chosen tracks, on this pleasing compilation.
