Priced at around £17 this looks like quite a tidy little package - 50 worship songs from the likes of Redman, Hughes, Oakley, Delirious? and many more trustworthy names all neatly compiled in a four disc set. However, the collection is simply a re-issue of the two volumes of 'I Could Sing Of Your Love Forever' released in 2000 and 2002. The packaging proclaims 'Limited Edition!', 'Unchanging truth has a new sound!' and '50 modern worship songs for a new generation!' and I'm sorry, but alarm bells start ringing. Let's have an end to this endless recycling of worship recordings. There is nothing wrong with (most of) the songs/recordings themselves (indeed, the fact that you will recognise almost every track speaks volumes about how God has used them to aid our worship) and the recordings are mostly of a high quality (although some of the older studio tracks are sounding dated). Perhaps this pack would be nice for the new Christian who wants to do a bit of catching up (but why, when there's so much great new worship music out there?). The low rating simply reflects this reviewer's frustration with the motivation behind releases such as this - but then maybe I'm the cynic?
