For some unexplained reason, I always get a strong feeling of deja vu whenever I come across a WOW album but this time round, the feeling's stronger than usual. Let's have a look at the track listing here. We've got Kirk Franklin's "Stomp" (the version that doesn't feature God's Property, Salt and that funkadelic sample), Mary Mary's "Heaven", Donnie McClurkin's "Stand", CeCe Winan's "Alabaster Box" - haven't the WOW people already released a compilation with all these tracks on? Or has the inevitable happened - the space-time continuum has split and both the WOW and Gotta Have Gospel! universes collided with each other? Either way, this just feels rather unnecessary. Guys, I know we're in the middle of a credit crunch, but stop re-selling old music to us and give us some new stuff please! By the way, the square rating is me assessing the necessity of this album, rather than the quality of the music on it.
