The press release for this CD pretty much sums it up; "pure nostalgia for long-time Tooth & Nail fans." For those who have been into Christian rock and punk for some time, there will be plenty to love here. It's great fun listening to early songs from the likes of Starflyer 59, MXPX, Plankeye and Ghoti Hook, and the more obscure artists are equally interesting. The frankly bizarre analogue-synth-driven Joy Electric succeed in puzzling the listener as ever, and the improbably named Joe Christmas wins the prize for strangest song with "Coupleskate". The CD is great as a representation of the thriving Christian underground scene, and as with all Tooth & Nail releases, the feeling that "anything goes" is prevalent. Long may they continue to champion the underdogs.
