The Booth Brothers kick off this collection compiled by Singing News magazine with a lively track, "Faithful One". Another jaunty number which grabbed my attention was "Never Been" by Greater Vision. However the standout track on this whole set is "Never Walk Alone" by Brian Free & Assurance, an intensely moving song which I have used in leading a worship service. "Just Stand" by the Legacy Five gets us back with toe tapping gospel, before Gold City slow the pace down again with "By Your Grace For Your Glory". The album concludes with an intriguing title "The Shepherds Point Of View" by a group who are new to me, The McKameys. It will be interesting to see how many of these songs actually become heard outside the rather insular Southern gospel world as the best material here is deserving of a wider hearing.
